What happens next?
Local Welfare will take your details to upload your food parcel voucher to our system. They will speak with you about your current situation to ensure you are aware of the support you can receive to help you out of your current crisis situation, you will be able to access this help via a range of agencies we work with.
Knottingley foodbank, Local Welfare and a range of other agencies work in partnership to provide short or long term support if needed to help address some of the issues behind the reasons for your crisis.
Agencies we work with include: Citizens Advice, housing support officers, children’s centres, health visitors, social services, local charities, money smart, local councils and more
Your Food Parcel Voucher
We use an internal online system so your food voucher is uploaded by your referral agency which instantly comes through to us. We will receive details regarding the number of adults and children in your household, allergies, dietary requirements etc so we can prepare your 7 day food parcel.
During Covid we are delivering food parcels on a Tuesday and Thursday.
Your parcel should arrive between 11.30am – 2.30pm (unless we give you a call to let you know of any delays)
We are hoping to re-open to the public again in the near future. Watch out for re-opening dates
Collecting your parcel
Under normal circumstances after speaking with Local Welfare or your referral agency you would be expected to collect your food parcel from Knottingley Foodbank as appose to a delivery service and we hope this will be happening again soon.
The foodbank has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and our volunteers are always happy to help. We usually have a range of referral agencies within the foodbank too who you can speak with on the day of collecting your food parcel.
Or you can just sit and have a cuppa and a chat with our trained volunteers. Your food parcel will be prepared on arrival and will be ready for you when you are ready to leave.
We fully understand this can be a daunting experience but we are hear to help, we never judge and anyone can find themselves in a crisis at any time in their lives…. you really are not alone!
