Finlay collecting the donations at Monk Fryston School

bag collection at schoolNine year old Finlay Johnson a pupil at Monk Fryston CofE Primary School recently planned and managed a collection of food for Knottingley Foodbank (KFB). Finlay who lives in Knottingley prepared 300 bags with a little explanatory poster attached and distributed them in school. Over 100 bags were returned with donations which Finlay packed and delivered to the foodbank. The food, weighed in by warehouse volunteers, amounted to 136 kilos. On behalf of the volunteers at KFB, project leader Janet Burns thanked Finlay for his marvellous effort telling him what a difference this would make to families struggling with food poverty in the area.
